New Board Member Bios

 

Tina Mabley

Assistant Dean and Director, Full-time Texas MBA Program, McCombs School of Business, e University of Texas at Austin
Tina Mabley serves as the Assistant Dean and Director for the Texas McCombs graduate business program, host to the last in-person MBA Roundtable Symposium.  In prior roles at UT, Tina served as the Director of Alumni Relations, building a robust, global business network to support the goals of the program, the college and the university.  As Director of Admissions, Tina modernized the MBA admission process, reengineering the application and designing a streamlined admission committee of the Full-time Texas MBA Program at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, managing strategy and program operations for the full-time Texas MBA program. She focuses on championing curricular and co-curricular innovations; fostering a robust learning environment to develop future leadership talent; and developing a dynamic, inclusive culture.  Most recently, she has developed skills in pandemic/crisis management, hybrid/dual mode course delivery, virtual and IRL community building, and using humor and optimism as super-powers to manage change and uncertainty. She also endeavors to never use the word “unprecedented” again.  In her current role, Tina was selected to serve on the 8-person design team for Robert Rowling Hall, the pioneering education center to improve selectivity and yield.  Prior to joining the University of Texas, Tina held roles in educational technology, marketing, consulting and internet start-ups.   Tina’s work has consistently been at the nexus of education and business and she finds her current role the most rewarding, inspired by the faces of the future of business leadership.  She holds an MBA from the McCombs School at the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Psychology with Education from Dartmouth College.

Michael Maier

Associate Dean, Master's and Professional Programs, Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta
Michael Maier is the Associate Dean for Master’s and Professional Programs at the Alberta School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. As a licensed CPA, he has taught extensively at the graduate level and has been recognized for teaching excellence at the University of Alberta as a two-time recipient of the McKenzie MBA Teaching Excellence Award. He was instrumental in the development of the first Master of Accounting degree program in Western Canada that carries the highest level of CPA Canada accreditation. Michael has published in leading accounting and economics journals along with articles in accounting practitioner publications. 

Silvia McCallister-Castillo

Executive Director for MBA Programs, Rady School of Management, University of California, San Diego
Silvia McCallister-Castillo joined the Rady School of Management in 2020 to serve as the Executive Director for MBA Programs. Over the last decade she has managed programs at business schools in four countries, including the Master in Management at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain; the EMBA-Global and Sloan Fellows at London Business School in the United Kingdom, the MBA for Executives at the Yale School of Management and the MBA Programs at the University of Hong Kong. Her roles have spanned student recruitment and admissions, student affairs, alumni relations and career development. She previously served on the Future of Work Committee of the American Chamber in Hong Kong, and taught sessions on marketing communications and student recruitment for GMAC’s Admissions Institute for New Professionals.  Silvia graduated with a BA in Classics from Columbia University and an MSc in Corporate Communication from IE Business School, and she completed the Accelerated Development Program at London Business School. 

Brian Mitchell

Associate Dean, Full-Time MBA Programs and Goizueta Global Strategy and Initiatives, Goizueta Business School, Emory University
Brian Mitchell is as an Associate Dean at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School where he leads the Full-Time MBA Programs and Goizueta Global Strategy & Initiatives. Prior to joining Goizueta, Brian developed a remarkable career in the pharmaceutical industry where he held several leadership positions including all levels of brand management, Global Head of Strategic and Business Analysis and Managing Director for the Specialized Products business of Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  As the leader of the Specialized Products business, Brian was responsible for delivering a P&L that grew to over $600 million.  In 2010 Brian was among the members of the Solvay senior executive team who successfully exited when the company was sold for $6.2 billion, and subsequently was honored with Emory’s Alumni Achievement Award that same year.  Brian holds a BA in Business Administration with honors from Morehouse College; MBA and MPH from Emory University where he was honored with the Michael Lee Outstanding Student Award; and an Ed.M. in Higher Education from Harvard University where he attended as a Zuckerman Fellow in Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership and earned the Intellectual Contribution and Faculty Tribute Award.  His commitment to education and global citizenship is reflected in his board service, as Brian serves as the treasurer of the Board of Directors for Wesley International Academy, a K-8 International Baccalaureate (IB) World Program School, and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Black MBA Association.
